Xanders Baptism

My nephew turned 8 last week, so we headed to my brothers house in Spokane for the weekend to attend his baptism and celebrate his birthday.  We arrived Friday night and met everyone at Olive Garden for dinner.  Ashton was so excited to see Gabriel.
And Hunter, McKay, and Alexander were thrilled to see each other again.

The next morning was the baptism.  Here is my brother's family with the birthday boy.

We got to the church early to practice our song.
All the kids sang "When I am Baptized" together.  (Grandma may have shed a few tears.)
We named the little singing group "Isabella and the boys."
All the boys.

All the Washington Grandkids together.

The babies!  (Not so much anymore.)

It was so fun to see our Spokane cousins and see Xander get baptized.  McKay is next, so I really wanted him to see it.

Silverwood and Fishing

A few weeks ago we took the kids to Silverwood Theme Park near Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.  We had a really fun day on the rides and in the water park and eating junk food for dinner.  The camera was in the locker for most of the day, so I only snapped a few pictures at the beginning of the day.

We camped in beautiful Farragut State Park next to Lake Pond Oreille.  It was gorgeous.  Just after taking these pictures we watched a bald eagle fishing.

We decided to try our own fishing each day in the gorgeous lake.  The water felt so nice it was hard to stay out of it-- we should have taken our swim suits.

Goofy Ashton decided he wanted to try,

but he wouldn't let Jason help him so he didn't get very far.

So he went back to throwing rocks in the lake, which is probably why we didn't have much luck.

Jason caught a teeny tiny one that we threw back.
And Hunter and McKay caught sticks and moss.  They weren't impressed.

The next day we headed to the swimming spot and had a picnic on the beach before heading home.  The weather couldn't have been better.

We've done this same trip 3 years in a row now, and we love it every time.  We've already decided to do it next year too!

Sunriver Ride

A few weekends ago my friends invited me to go on a ride in the mountains near Bend, Oregon.  We had a fun 2 days camping and riding horses in a beautiful area.  I love camping with horses, even though this campsite was particularly dusty and we were filthy the whole time.
We took the 12 mile "fun" ride since there were people there doing 25, 50, and 100 mile endurance races.  We like to take it easy and talk and only ride fast when we want to.  So fun!
