Summer Tidbits

I love watching Ash discover the world.  He was only 6 months old last summer, so this is the first year he's been able to explore the outdoors.  And he would stay outdoors all day long if we let him.

Swim lessons are going well.  Hunter and McKay are LOVING them and making great progress!

Jason's Grandma turned 85 last week, so we went to her house for a big party and to help with some yard work.  The boys love their "Grandma Great" so much!

The best part about summer evenings--- the sunsets.  Every night they are different but very vivid.  I decided I needed to try to photograph them once in awhile.  Here are some of my attempts.  (No, I still cannot get the boys to pose normal for a picture.)

Lovin' our summer!

Cutie Summer Patooties

Summer is wonderful.  Love it!  It's just too short.  We're trying to fill our long days and make them count, but in all my summer plannning I realized there's only 1 1/2 months left and that's just not enough time to do everything I want PLUS have plenty of lazy time!

There have been a few trips to the farm to visit family, a few barbeque's with friends, and a few days of errand running.  But mostly I like to stay home and stick to a schedule.

Here's my cutie pies visiting with their "Grandma Great"  (Great Grandma Gilbert).
**Warning**  Ashton is EXTREMELY cute in the following pictures!  This is kind of an ode to Ashton post.

1. Morning: Make Beds/Clean Rooms

2. Yard work/Play outside
Usually I reward the boys with play money they can use to buy a date night, treat at the store, etc.  But for this the boys are getting paid real money to pull the plentiful weeds that got out of hand while we were out of town.  They are saving for an upcoming trip and I'm teaching them to pay their tithing while saving for something they really want.

3.Snack Time

4. Housework
(Usually sweeping the kitchen floor or picking up the family room.  This has to be done a few times a day usually.)

5.Piano Lessons
McKay started this summer and is doing great!

6. Lunch

7. Ash takes a nap and other boys do School Work Books.

8. Reading Time/Play Board Games

If they do all this in a timely manner they have the rest of the day to play, watch a movie, play video games, or take a nap if they are sleepy.  (Which happens a lot now since they don't go to bed until later.)
On Mondays and Wednesday nights they have soccer camp and then we'll start swim lessons next week.  We also have a probable trip to Wyoming to visit my family and a camping trip we're still trying to sqeeze in.  Summer used to feel so long and more!  Don't get me wrong, we still have our down time, and I'm loving staying home and focusing on my little darlings.

Ash cracks me up!

Life is good.
