Weekend Humor

I like Donald's idea of posting a weekend video, so I'm going to post some weekend humor. This is something someone emailed to Jason and he thought it was pretty funny. You can decide for yourself how true it is! Have a great (HOT) weekend!

1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't do it!

5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but it is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here- This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot'-- that is pure sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all.)

8. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3.

Hunter's tag / Backyard fun

In Hunter's Own Words:
Lorelai Sorenson tagged Hunter awhile back and I finally have the results.

1. What is something Mom always says to you? "Love you."
2. What makes Mom happy? "The doggy." (Interesting since we don't have a dog, and when we did it did NOT make me happy.)
3. What makes Mom sad? "Cats". (Hmmm...we don't have a cat either.)
4. How does Mom make you laugh? " Tickle."
5. What was Mom like as a child? "A girl."
6. How old is your Mom? "26."
7. How tall is your Mom? "1."
8. What is her favorite thing to do? "Color."
9. What does your mom do when you're not around? "Go away."
10. If your mom became famous, what would it be for? "Sleeping."
11. What is your mom really good at? "Sleeping."
12. What is your mom not good at? "Sticky."
13. What does your mom do for her job? "Basketball." (I don't know where THAT came from.)
14. What is your mom's favorite food? "Pancakes."
15. What makes you proud of your mom? "My nose."
16. If your Mom were a cartoon character, who would she be? "George." (As in curious.)
17. What do you and your mom do together? "Go to park."
18. How are you and your mom the same? "We like dogs."
19. How are you and your mom different? "Cats."
20. How do you know your mom loves you? "Hugs."

Here's some fun pics of what else we did today:

We spent almost all day in the backyard. The kids were helping me water the plants and soaked their clothes. It was hot anyway so I stripped them down, put their swim suits on, and let them go at it! It reminded me of what we used to do in Fresno before we had a pool. Hunter is obsessed with his water guns. He knows if he squirts me he's in BIG trouble so poor little brother gets it instead!
They stayed very hydrated.

When Jason came home from work I told him we were going to eat outside because it was so nice. I pulled out the chicken I had marinating and he came home with tons of asparagus from his friend Nick's farm. He happily grilled them for us and it turned out to be a perfect evening.

BY THE WAY: Grilled asparagus is DELICIOUS. Put it in a bag with olive oil and Johnny's seasoning-- shake to coat--then grill. The best so far! (We get TONS every year from Nick so I'm always trying to find new recipes.)

NOTE: Sorry I haven't updated on Jason! The police academy was backed up so he will now be going in on July 14th. Right now he is already working with the Othello police department as a dispatcher. He is learning the computer system and the lingo which is really good for him but he still can't wait to get trained and get on the road. He has his badge, but he hasn't gotten sworn in yet. I'll update when that happens and post pictures.

Fathers Day

Last weekend we celebrated Fathers Day in Royal with Jason's family. We had a great time appreciating all the Dads we love! Jason with his wonderful Dad. McKay adores them both!

When Jason and his brothers get together the bragging starts and this time things had to get settled with some arm wrestling. But you know, in this family there are no losers. Well, except for Craig. (Just kidding Craig. I know you won one too!)

Our Anniversary/ Father's Day

6 years ago today we got hitched! Whoo hoo! To celebrate we started this morning with a rigorous game of tennis, which we will follow with a romantic day filled with yard work. I know, I know, we're party animals. Then hopefully we'll be able to get somewhat cleaned up (after getting the kids bathed and the house cleaned for the sitter)to make it to a nice dinner while we stare exhaustedly at each other. To top it off we may even catch a movie (or a nap, depending on which way you look at a dark theater). I guess the point is, if I'm going to be exhausted with someone, I'm glad it's Jason.
Since tomorrow's fathers day this has become "appreciate Jason" weekend. He's a great (and patient) husband, a very involved and fun dad, and we're lucky to have him. I hope he knows how much I appreciate his long days of shoveling rock! Some things I really love about him:
First of all, SO good looking!
Makes us laugh constantly.
Loves me no matter how fat I get or how many time he's seen me throw up!
Changes poopy diapers without complaint.
Can't wait to be a cop so he can make the world a better place.
He is definitely one HOT DAD! I love you Jason! Happy Anniversary. Happy Fathers Day!

The Yard

This is why I love growing flowers! These are all from my front yard. I've done a few bouquets like this for other people but then I figured I deserved one too. They good. Store bought roses don't smell great because they are usually grown indoors and don't have to attract bees to pollinate them. Outdoor roses smell HEAVENLY but you gotta watch out for those nasty thorns! I poked myself pretty good arranging these, even through my gardening gloves.

Speaking of our yard, we're finally getting the rest of our rock put in. Jason got most of it done already, with a little help from Hunter. We're getting the rest of it delivered tomorrow. (I'm sure Jason's thrilled. His back ached at the end of the day, but I appreciate his hard work!) I'll post more pictures when it's finished.

Fun With The Kids (or, using the kids as an excuse...)

Last week, (or the week before, I can't remember I've been a bad blogger) my friend Megan took a vacation. I, being the good friend that I am, recommended my amazing sister in law Holly to be their babysitter. Naturally we spent a lot of time with her to help entertain the kids but ended up having more fun than they did. For example, the bounce arena: Holly and Jason went at it in the ring. Jason pretty much knocked her 100 lbs around but she got a few good shots in.
Then Jason and I decided to work out our volleyball frustrations with some boxing gloves on. Sadly I have to say I didn't really hold my own. I think I got two good shots in and then...well take a look.
Yeah that's me trapped in the corner and Jason's still punching me.
Yep, trapped in the other corner and he's still punching.
Okay now I'm on my way down, and he's, um, still punching me!
Okay, now we can get to the kids. Ahhh...Hunter and Mia. Aren't they cute? (I think that this may be Hunters future wife!)
Chelsea was so good to McKay, he followed her around a lot.
Hunter was no match for Morgan!
This is Holly. Stuck to a wall. I guess you'd have to be there...
The SUMO Standoff. Pretty much all Jason had to do was nudge her and Holly went down! (I wouldn't even try this after my defeat in the ring!)
Here's more feel good family fun pictures at the park. Hurray for warm weather!
